The Program

The residential component of God's Treasure House, Inc., a Christian Transitional Center for Women is a four phase, eighteen month Christian discipleship ministry. Each phase of the ministry has a purpose with certain goals set for you to achieve as you progress These are listed briefly below and in greater detail in the pages that follow. The times listed . are approximates. Actual time will be in accordance with your own growth and achievements:

1. Precious Gems Orientation (2 Weeks): To acquaint the new resident with God's Treasure House philosophy, rules and regulations.

2. Phase I - Silver Level (6 Months): To establish the resident in the foundations of the Christian faith, and to begin the discipleship process.

3. Phase II- Gold Level (6 Months): To give the maturing resident further practical opportunities to use the biblical principles taught in Phase I.

4. Phase III - Diamond Level (3 Months): To give the mature resident an atmosphere of minimal supervision where she can continue to apply the principles learned in Phase II.

5. Phase IV -Trophies of God's Grace (3 Months): To make the transition from resident to graduate, and to implement the Exit Plan.

God's Treasure House operates in the belief that the Holy Spirit is able to cause a genuine awakening while effecting permanent change in the lives of God's people. We affirm that real, permanent change can only be had through the power of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Our prayer is that God will do a great work in your life while you are with us. No matter what you may have done, God is able to change you and start you on the road to a successful new life.

We ask that you try to be open and obedient to what you are taught. You will no longer be able to push your problems aside. You must confront your problems and make a real effort to overcome them.

Each staff and volunteer member has been carefully and prayerfully selected, not only for his or her skill, but also because of the compassion and concern for your physical and spiritual welfare. Please take advantage of their experience and counsel, and allow God to use this opportunity to change your life.

God's Treasure House also offers "SECOND TOUCH," where you will have a support team from a local church in the area where you will be living who will offer the unconditional love of Jesus Christ that you were shown at God's Treasure House.

The Resident Experience

All residents are expected to live and work together as a family. Since Jesus Christ is the head of our home, all residents are expected to live in a manner that brings glory to Him and helps provide an atmosphere of love and cooperation. This is a very strict program and should be chosen as a home plan only if you are committed to starting a new life in Christ. If you fail to complete this program, it will make it much harder for you to be sent to a different program or have another home plan approved.

Each new resident is given a Resident Manual that contains the house rules and program materials. Residents must do all of the following work in their manual:

1. A daily journal showing the Scripture used in devotions and writing about how you feel and what happened each day.

2. A Scripture memorization journal. Residents must memorize a different Bible verse each week of the program and quote their verse of the week at dinner each night.

3. A social activity journal showing the different "fun" things done each week.

4. A church attendance journal showing which church the resident attended.

5. An exercise journal showing the physical exercise done by the resident.

6. A contact list showing names, addresses, and phone numbers of new contacts made while in the program.

7. A financial worksheet used to prepare and monitor a budget.

8. Goals for several different areas (spiritual, financial, relationships, etc.)

In addition, there are specific goals for each of the nine-eighteen months of the program. Each resident must accomplish these goals in order to graduate from the program. Rewards are given upon the completion of each month's goals. One of the rewards available is the privilege of overnight or weekend visits with approved family members or friends.

During the first thirty days (approximately) at God's Treasure House, residents attend morning classes, watch videos, listen to tapes, volunteer at church, take care of probation/parole issues, and get any needed identification. The main focus during this phase will be for the resident to acclimate herself to the policies and procedures of the house and to allow ministry staff an opportunity to assess individual needs. At the end of this phase, residents will start applying for jobs. We will help all residents to find a desirable job, but they must take whatever job is available. Once they begin working and receive a full week's wage they will start paying a program fee of $140.00 per week for room, board, transportation, and programming. Residents may keep up to a maximum of $50.00 per week for their personal use. Everything else is placed into a restricted escrow account that they cannot have until they leave the program. Some women are able to find cars and leave the program with transportation also.

We have all double rooms at the present time and residents are required to share a room. Each resident is responsible for keeping her room clean and doing her own laundry including sheets, pillowcases, blankets, bedspreads, towels, and washcloths provided by God's Treasure House.

Policies

In order to have the House function properly, we have a long list of rules. Below are some of the most critical policies that applicants need to be aware of before deciding to come to God's Treasure House.

The use or possession of illegal drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, or weapons is strictly forbidden and may result in immediate expulsion from the program. Residents will be required to pay $20 for random drug tests. All rooms may be searched by God's Treasure House Ministries' staff at any time.

Residents are required to sign out every time they leave the house and sign back in when they return. We work closely with Parole/Probation and they require us to know where you are at all times. Curfew is at 9:00pm each night, unless otherwise pre-approved by God's Treasure House staff

Visitors are permitted only with prior staff approval. All contact with persons outside God's Treasure House is subject to staff review and must be discontinued upon staff request.

Phone calls are limited to 15 minutes during the week and 30 minutes on the weekend. No phone calls can be made or received during the dinner hour, evening programs, or after IO:OOpm.

Residents must attend and actively participate in all of the following:

  • Sunday morning & Sunday evening worship services as scheduled.

  • Monday-Thursday evening classes as scheduled.

  • Personal counseling as scheduled.

  • Social activities as scheduled.

  • Preparing dinner as scheduled.

  • Daily and weekly chores to keep the house and vehicles clean.

Any type of involvement with men, other than your immediate family, is prohibited. All of your attention needs to be focused on strengthening youi spiritual life. Relationships with men are a distraction to this objective.

All residents are expected to do whatever they are asked to by staff without complaining or having a critical spirit.

We have a point system with each infraction of House rules assigned a value from one (1) to six (6). Once a resident has accumulated six (6) points, she may be expelled from the program. Some infractions, such as the commission of any crime or drug use, are six points and cause for immediate dismissal.

Women who come to God's Treasure House program with a sincere commitment to rebuild their lives graduate from the program, stay out of prison, restore broken relationships, and succeed in life. If this is your desire, we stand ready to help you in any way possible.
